GP - salaried with an interest in partnership
Join our great team in our lovely new state-of-the-art surgery.
Situated in a pleasant, leafy but interesting suburb with easy access to central London. Currently 11 doctors, 4 nursing staff. F2s and soon Registrars
15,700 happy patients. High performers (and 100% QOF yet again this year!)
All the usual bells and whistles. Friendly and supportive learning environment.
One of our beloved partners has relocated and we are looking for one or two GPs to join our team but we're prepared to wait for the right person/s.
Ideally 6 or more sessions, can be over 3 - 4 days but if you have other ideas, try us!
You probably will not wish to commit to partnership until you get to know us a bit, so we’re happy to start with a salaried option.
One of our partners has moved to provide his young family with a more rural environment. Though he is irreplaceable we hope to find someone new with their own skills and ideas. The senior partner will be retiring in the next couple of years and we need to prepare for this.
We believe in the strengths of the partnership model shaping and driving the practice and this will be so important in the coming years as general practice and the NHS undergoes huge change. We like change and in the last couple of years have built a beautiful new surgery, employed a Clinical Pharmacist, ANP, F2 Doctors, 2 registrars starting this year, E-consult and other gizmos. We’re keen to innovate and happy to welcome new ideas and try things out.
We are a well-respected local practice and prominent in the local health economy with representation on the local network board, chairing the multi-disciplinary complex problem management group, leading IT for the CCG, teaching undergraduates as well as the postgraduates. We’re busy but feel better for driving our own destiny as far as we can, doing what rewards us and feeling empowered. This is the benefit of a good partnership and a shared love of general practice and the opportunities it offers.
Our partners are all enthusiastic and committed and each has a leadership role within the practice. We run the partnership very fairly and evenly; everyone has a voice and we welcome challenge and discussion. We rarely have to vote as we generally reach consensus but we do have the safety net of a recently updated partnership agreement. Because we rent the building there is no capital buy-in. The partners are all very supportive and communicative and this gives a feeling of great security and protection, vital at this time of turmoil in the NHS.
We have a great nursing team, practice manager, admin support, salaried GPs and reception team. We have an independent on-site pharmacy.
We have a lunchtime clinical meeting each week and weekly partners’ strategy and business meetings alternating with whole-practice meetings and primary care team meetings.
We strive for efficiency, using IT a great deal (EMISWeb, Docman 10, E-Consult, AccuRx, remote access, 75% EPS, high numbers of digital patients, most of our appointments online, Intradoc, Envisage screens, IP Phone system with EMIS integration) and are working out how to stream patients better.
We hope you would share the same sense of adventure and enthusiasm and infect us with your ideas and energy. Though very rewarding, being a GP can be tough at times and we hope your sense of humour and optimism prevails – it is all too easy to get weighed down by the day to day grind and the stresses of top-down NHS management. We trust you will be a good clinician with a commitment to high standards and a patient centred approach, balanced with a pragmatic use of your resources to look after yourself whilst efficiently dealing with the work you’re responsible for.
We’d be delighted to meet informally and show you around and if you’re interested will arrange an interview. Please send your CV and a short letter telling us what makes you and excellent candidate and what contribution you will make to our practice and to the partnership if this interest you.
Check out the details and application below:
1. Job description, Job plan,
2. Practice profile incl. pay scale

Please email to our Practice Manager, Amanda.Ure@nhs.net
If you would like to visit the practice or ask any questions please telephone Practice Manager Amanda Ure on 0208 204 7456
We shall interview as people apply and appoint when we meet the right person, even if that means waiting.
*A couple of endorsements from Foundation Doctors recently finished with us:
Dear Willow Tree Clinical Team
Thank you for being so welcoming again and patient during my Taster week,
I have seen so much. So many different consultations styles and so many complex issues raised. It has been such an interesting week, so many things I have never thought about or come across before. Wonderful clinical care.
I have had great experiences twice now at the surgery, both as an undergraduate and as a doctor. You have cemented my decision to train as a GP.
Apologies I did not get to see you all/thank you all in person before I left... so thank you!!
I have had such a wonderful experience at Willow Tree, you've all been truly fantastic. I felt welcome from my first day, you've made working here very easy, everyone is really approachable and I'll be singing the willow tree praise for many years to come!
All the best to everyone!
